Towards a new governance of agri-environmental-climate services
The webinar “Towards a new governance of agri-environmental-climate services” was hosted on the 11th March by Life agriCOlture project, with the support of Regione Emilia-Romagna and as part of networking activities with LIFE Greenchange, Life Gestire 2020 and H2020 Console projects.
Thanks to the experience gained in the four European projects, the event intended to present and discuss new governance tools based on collective, place-based approaches able to promote, reward, guide the production of agri-environmental-climate services in agricolture. Consistently with this objective, the first working hypothesis about the “Pact for the Soil” developed by Life agriCOlture were compared with the innovative governance tools already proposed by Life Greenchange e Life IP Gestire 2020. Davide Viaggi, Full Professor of Agricultural Economics and Rural Appraisal at the University of Bologna and Project Manager of H2020 Console, contributed with a speech about the contracts in the field of agri-environmental-climate services. The role of these collective approaches, based on cooperation and partnership, in the future PAC was debated in the final round-table discussion by Davide Viaggi together with Giampaolo Sarno e Nicola Laruccia, officers of Regione Emilia-Romagna, and with Luigi Servadei from the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and the National Rural Network.
The full webinar recording is available in the Life agriCOlture project Facebook page.
