Ada project and risk management in the fruit and vegetables, dairy and wine supply chains
Drought, heat waves, phenological advances, late frosts: these are just some of the most evident consequences of climate change. Farmers and other stakeholders in the supply chains cannot need to take in into account when planning their activities, both in the short, medium and long term.
What actions can be implemented in the supply chains to reduce the impact of climate change? Three workshops organized by Emilia-Romagna Region as partner of Ada project, funded with Life programme of the European Commission between September and November 2023, attempted to answer this and other questions.
The project’s goal is the implementation of an innovative model of public-private partnership among insurance, public administration, scientific institutes and aggregate forms of producers (POs and cooperatives) to increase the resilience of the agricultural sector in three key supply chains of our region: fruit and vegetables, dairy and wine.
The three events are briefly summarized below, including short video interviews with the experts and key players in the supply chain who participated.
- 1st workshop: “The fruit and vegetables supply chain and climate change: news challenges and risk management” - 8/09/2023
Patrizia Bianconi, responsible for ecological transition for the Region, Unipol Sai Assicurazioni Sustainability Manager Giulia Balugani, regional managers for Agriculture sector Gennaro Giliberti for Tuscany and Giuseppina Felice for Emilia-Romagna, explained in this short video that in the fight against climate change, you can’t save yourself alone; what are the roles of insurance companies and institutions in supporting producers and their organizations; the tools provided by Life Ada project.
