Final Conference Interreg Project Food Chains 4EU
The Final Food Chains 4 Europe conference went online last 7th of October. For five years 5 European regions worked together within the Interreg project Food Chains 4 EU, to realize innovations in the food chain: Plovdiv/Sofia (Bulgaria), Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Maramures (Romania), Greater Manchester (UK) and Flevoland (Netherlands).
During the final event the results of the project partners were presented with a look ahead at what is needed to further innovate the food chain.
The conference started with an introduction and plenary part about what the goal of FoodChains 4 EU project was and one representant for each partner was briefly interviewed about the results of the exchange between the regions.
In the following parallel sessions, the focus moved on different thematic topics such as Food policy, Supporting food entrepreneurs and Food research. During the lunch session the participants could follow in the 5 regions’ online booths the presentation of the achieved results, then after a second round of parallel sessions, the conference came to its conclusion with a future perspective and opportunities for further innovations presented by keynote speaker prof.dr.ir. JSC (Han) Wiskerke Professor Rurale Sociologie.
