Prizefish, the goal and objectives set have been achieved
The European cross-border cooperation project Prizefish - co-financed by the INTERREG Italy - Croatia 2014-2020 territorial cooperation program - relating to the "Blue Innovation" priority is nearing its conclusion.
Prizefish has involved research bodies and public institutions, fishery producer organizations and coastal communities in the regions concerned, for cooperation aimed at promoting the Northern Adriatic fish supply chain on markets at both a European and international level. To achieve this objective, the Prizefish partnership began with actions aimed at ensuring greater sustainability of local fish production, such as the development of eco-certification practices for fishing products and other activities to support not only environmental, but also economic and social sustainability, thanks to innovative fishing technologies integrated into the supply chain.
In collaboration with the University of Bologna, Lead Partner of the project, the Emilia-Romagna Region organized and managed as partners some training meetings which were held remotely, in consideration of the global Covid-19 emergency. The webinars were aimed at involving and informing operators and stakeholders present in the partner territories of the Prizefish project; The webinars were supplemented with live polls. The collaboration of the 14 Prizefish partners (8 Italian partners and 6 Croatian partners) has made a different approach to the fish products sector possible and the specific involvement of sector operators has laid the foundations for a future in which the slogan, which accompanied the project, «Fish consciously! Create more value! Respecting the Adriatic Sea!», can find concrete implementation among operators in the Adriatic fishing sector.
