Emilia-Romagna Region presents the results obtained with FoodChains 4 EU

FoodChains 4 EU Interreg Europe project is coming to an end, for this reason Emilia-Romagna Region summarized in a document the concrete results and the good practices learned from the partners.

A clear example of how interregional cooperation can lead to local policies changes was the call approved by the Regional Council with resolution nr. 153 of 10 February 2020: for the first time in Emilia-Romagna Region, specific resources (1 million euro) were destined to projects related to innovation in the agri-food packaging through the use of sustainable materials.

In the analysis, it is highlighted the need of a better harmonization between ROP-ERDF and RDP-EAFRD funds, with the objective of getting coordinated calls in 2021-2027 programming period with respect to agri-food chains sustainability improvement.

The Final Conference of FoodChains 4 EU project, which went live last 7th October, is online as well in the form of a Digital magazine for those who could not attend the event or wish to watch all the parallel sessions.  

Each one of the five partner regions - Plovdiv/Sofia (Bulgaria), Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Maramures (Romania), Greater Manchester (UK) and Flevoland (Netherlands) – has a dedicated page containing a short presentation and the link to their specific action plans in the project.

Moreover, on page nine of the magazine the full videos of the six parallel sessions were uploaded: Food Place Making, Food community and ecosystem building, Supporting food entrepreneurs, Food Education, Food Research e Food policy. This last session was led by Mario Montanari for our Region and by Adrian Morley from the University of Manchester.
