Shaping fair cities

The 2030 Agenda in our cities: the national campaign starts on the World Day Against Violence against Women

Two months after the start of the international campaign, the national Shaping Fair Cities campaign to raise awareness of the development goals of the 2030 Agenda begins

Once again a highly symbolic date is chosen, the 25th of November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to launch the national campaign with which the Region involves the entire regional territory and its institutions, municipalities, metropolitan cities and municipalities unions, in the implementation, communication and monitoring of the sustainable development goals of the Agenda 2030 in our cities. In this way, the project's extensive partnership, which includes a large number of municipalities and public bodies, is further expanded, thus promoting the crucial role of local governments in implementing global objectives and effectively implementing Goal 17 of the 2030 Agenda on Partnership for Objectives.

"Agenda 2030 in our cities" is the main message of the local communication campaign, which is mainly articulated on the web, through the dissemination at national level of original multimedia contents, and on the territory, through meetings and trainings, events and initiatives to inform, educate and raise awareness among the target groups of all the activities, namely citizenship, civil society, local authorities and public officials, the importance of localizing Agenda 2030 in cities. The hashtag used to convey the main message #inourcities (#nellenostrecitta) is added to that used in the international campaign, #inourhands (#nellenostremani), to assert that only through the participation and inclusion of all -  leaving no one behind - it's possible to achieve the Global Goals also at the local level, emphasizing and promoting the crucial role that cities and subnational governments must play in this process.

The first information-training event of the campaign is expected in December, with the participation of the local authorities that have been subgranted by the Emilia-Romagna Region for the realization of communication and awareness campaigns innovative in favor of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in our cities. On the occasion, the 14 winning projects of the call will be presented, with the intervention of the representatives of the Municipalities, Metropolitan Cities and Unions of Municipalities and the civil society organizations involved, and with the scientific contribution of experts in the process of localization of sustainable development objectives selected by the University of Bologna, partner of the project.
