MD.net at Macfrut fair of Rimini

The MD.net project was launched at the Macfrut show in Rimini May 8th through May 10th, 2019. It was hosted in the Emilia-Romagna stand.

Macfrut is the leading event in the Fruit and Veg sector. This year in its 36th edition, the event registered 1,000 exhibitors and more than 43,000 visitors of which a quarter from abroad.

A not to be missed appointment that has been attended by the Emilia-Romagna regional government for many years and with an exhibition area where to showcase projects and activities.

During the 2019 edition, the Emilia-Romagna regional government dedicated an area to Fattorie Aperte (Open Farms) a program for the promotion of quality productions, PDO and PGI goods for which Emilia-Romagna is leader in Europe in terms of registered products.

Macfrut has also been a useful opportunity for disseminating the MD.net project of which the Emilia-Romagna regional government is a partner.

Next steps are the MD.net website within the new regional portal dedicated to European projects and the organization of meetings with stakeholders.

Thanks to these meetings and living labs, the Emilia-Romagna regional government intends to networking representatives in the production areas with the tourism sector in order to promote innovation.

The goal is the creation of new products and services able to add value, on the touristic point of view as well, to the landscapes, the crops, the farming techniques, the traditions, the crafts, the know-how, the values, the recipes and the innovations which represent the high value heritage of Emilia-Romagna.
