Shaping fair cities

The Emilia-Romagna Region has approved the regional strategy for the 2030 Agenda

Towards the 17 sustainable development goals. Focus on young people, women, work, digital technology, cutting climate-altering emissions, territorial medicine

The Regional Strategy Agenda 2030 of the Emilia-Romagna Region was approved. The strategy assumes all 17 sustainable development objectives, starting from the specificities of the territory, and identifying about 100 quantitative objectives to be achieved by 2025-2030.

The goals set include achieving 78% of the employment rate, gender equality in employment and management positions, halving the number of road accident injuries compared to 2020, poverty at pre-crisis levels, 55% of less climate-altering emissions than in 1990, construction of 170 Health homes.

In order to support and overcome the global challenge for the sustainable development of the Planet, the document defines and 'localizes' the UN global action plan and the 5P People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership starting from the specificities of the Emilia-Romagna region, from its strengths and weaknesses, identifying about 100 quantitative targets to be achieved by 2020/2030 to be monitored every year to assess the positioning of the region with respect to global challenges, measure the contribution of regional policies and eventually re-orient them. And all this in line with the lines of action of the 2020-2025 mandate program and shared in the Pact for Work and Climate.

The document was developed by a technical working group within the Region, with the support of ASviS - the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development - and the involvement of Art-ER, the Regional Agency for Prevention, the Environment and Energy (ARPAE), of regional universities through Emilia-Lab, a network of universities in Emilia-Romagna.
