Cavata Orientale: EIA approved

Emilia-Romagna Region has approved the Environmental Impact Assessment; executive design continues now

A "green light" to the project of environmental restoration of the Cavata Orientale canal and its declaration of public utility. These are the major results of the environmental impact assessment approved by the Regional Council.

The project involves the restoring of Cavata in its section between its derivation from Canal "V" and the crossroads of Via Lama in the municipality of Carpi, through its enlargement and the realization of a floodable area that will contain it a vast wetland area, with the aim of recreating a rare natural environment in this area of the  Emilian plain.

In the approval act, continuous and constant monitoring of the correct functioning of the new hydraulic knot is planned, which will involve, in addition to the hydraulic aspect, all the environmental aspects both during the construction of the yards and in the next phase of operation.

The activities will now continue with the drafting of the executive project for starting works, which will take place in the first months of 2018.
