Ruralbania, the kick off event of the project on 21st october 2022 in Cesena

A study visit by Albanian trade associations and institutions took place from 17 to 21 October. On 21 October in Cesena the conference in the presence of Anila Bitri Lani, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Italy

The Ruralbania project was inaugurated by the five-day study visit to Italy, from 17 to 21 October 2022 between Reggio Emilia and Cesena, by trade associations and Albanian institutions. It is a delegation of representatives involved in the first step of the project: training in European good practices of agricultural assistance centers, through the expertise and experience of the CAA-Cia. The path will then continue with the professional updating for Albanian technicians of agricultural assistance services, carried out by the Agriculture Association and Vita-Cia.

On 21 October in Cesena there was talk of RURALBANIA in the kick off event, moderated by Cristina Chirico, head of the Internationalization Office of the CIA and introduced by the president of Cia Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Francia.

Following the introductory greetings by Anila Bitri Lani, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Italy (tbc) and the representative of AICS - Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. Francesco Gradari and Alberto Sartori, Volunteers in the RTM World, entered into the merits of the "RURALBANIA: an opportunity to exchange with the Italian experience" project; Graziano Scardino, CAA-Cia national president; Mirella Orlandi and Roberta Sangiorgi from the Emilia-Romagna Region.

"The commitment of institutions and civil society for a new Albanian agricultural and rural strategy" saw the interventions of Merita Deda, Albanian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Evelina Azizaj, National Coordinator ANRD - Albanian Network for Rural Development; Hafuz Domi, Director of the ADAD Malore Association and Sabah Djaloshi, Director of the AgroPuka Association.

RURALBANIA originates from the conclusions and recommendations that emerged from the Final Evaluation of the Alliance Project for the Development of Family Farming, Northern Albania

The project has generated good practices at the level of development of the sheep and goat supply chain, management of agricultural financing schemes and promotion of typical agri-food productions that can be capitalized and extended to other traditional high-potential agricultural chains (e.g. honey, fruit) and to neighboring mountain areas (Kukes, Dibra).
