Resistance project
The general objective of the Italy-Croatia Program (who co-finance the project) is to increase the prosperity and "blue" growth potential of the area, stimulating the creation of cross-border partnerships capable of bringing out sensible changes.
Resistanceis an example of the cooperation of various experts, members of representatives of local, regional, educational institutions and international environmental organizations, who will jointly evaluate the good practices already developed for the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources. All the partners involved will work together to establish guidelines for preserving the wealth of the Adriatic to obtain maximum economic benefits by protecting the marine ecosystem. In accordance with the EUSAIR pillar 3 and related Flagship, Resistance will use the best practices, results and all the benefits available from the Soundscape, Ecoss, Ecomap, Net4mplastic, Dory, Ml-Repair and Saspas projects to develop sustainable growth, fighting the pollution and contamination and protect the unique biodiversity of the Adriatic.
The guiding idea of the project is that joint solutions can only be developed effectively if international cooperation of different organizations is encouraged.
Coordinated by the municipality of Podstrana (Croatia), the project involves 8 partners from Italy and Croatia: Zdravi Grad (Croatia) who will be in charge of the communication of the project, the Cetacea Onlus Foundation of Riccione, the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice, the University of Ferrara, the "More i Krs" Institute of Split (Croatia) and the Kornati National Park of Murter-Kornati (Croatia).
The role of the Emilia-Romagna region, which is a partner of the project, is carried out by capitalizing on the results and good practices developed by the Dory project.
In order to ensure this sustainability, it is necessary to establish an intelligent coastal management system to support maritime spatial planning. So, all the partners involved will work together to establish guidelines for preserving the wealth of the Adriatic in order to obtain maximum economic benefits by protecting the marine ecosystem.
