Webinar "Update on the ecological evolution of restored canals"
The new training course, held by nationally renowned experts and teachers, is mainly aimed at professional sector technicians, public bodies and reclamation consortia, who already in their work are involved in the management of the reclamation network of the plain or who want to deepen the problems and the most recent new design approaches, but it is also open to students, researchers and interested citizens.
Due to the limitations imposed by Covid-19, the meeting was carried out remotely, guaranteeing remote participation through the Microsoft Teams platform.
The course was also accredited for the purposes of professional updating of Agronomists and Foresters.
Themes and contents
The Webinar set itself the following objectives:
- Update the participants on the ecological evolution of the restored canals under LIFE RINASCE;
- Encourage discussion with participants regarding the monitoring methods used, the problems faced, and other methods used in similar contexts;
- Verify the replicability of the projects carried out by LIFE RINASCE in other similar contexts.
The presentations were organized in a first part dedicated to the works carried out by the project and its potential also in terms of ecosystem services offered, which was followed by a second part dedicated to the different types of monitoring performed before and after the construction of the works on the canals, their results and the critical issues that emerged.
The third and last part of the meeting was dedicated to discussion with the participants.
The event had a good success, registering the online presence of over sixsty people.
