Conference organized by CIRF in October 2018

River restoration will be treated for a new territory balance, including climate change and land use

As part of the networking activities of the European project LIFE RINASCE, the Italian Center for River Restoration (CIRF), the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Central Emilia Reclamation Consortium organize a real "river restoration week" in Bologna from 22nd to 26th October 2018.

  • Conservation and recovery of the biodiversity of river corridors
  • Towards a circular economy: assessment of ecosystem services of river corridors and analysis of financial mechanisms for their redevelopment
  • The restoration of river basins for the rebalancing of the hydro-morphological regime: soil protection, natural water retention, Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS)
  • Sustainable management of water resources between respect for ecological drainage and qualitative water protection
  • Monitoring before and after operations of river restoration
  • Processes including the active involvement of local communities in the management of river corridors and in the use of their resources
