The Training of Trainers in Valencia starts on Monday the 25th of March
The Training of Trainers (ToT) in Valencia aims to train highly qualified professionals on the localization of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The commitment of the trainers / experts is essential to prepare further future trainers and thus ensure the multiplier effect of the project. Education, together with communication, is in fact a key pillar of the Shaping Fair Cities project, to educate and raise awareness, but also to empower and encourage citizens, public officials, local authorities and all involved stakeholders to actively participate in achieving the SDGs.
In particular, the four SDGs at the center of the project will be addressed in the ToT: gender equality (SDG 5), the fight against climate change (SDG 13), sustainable and resilient cities (SDG 11) and peaceful societies inclusive (SDG 16), with a special focus on migration. All project partners will be invited to share good practices and previous experiences in the localization of these SDGs, with participatory approach and methodology.
In addition to the Valencia ToT, the project foresees, over the next two years of activity (2019-2020), the realization of several other events and training tools - multilateral consultations, round tables, capacity building workshops, summer and winter schools, public events - to facilitate the implementation of the Agenda in the different policy areas (decentralized cooperation, energy, mobility, migration, food and agriculture, culture and education, etc.), assessing specific needs and defining different priorities.
