Reggio Emilia: project launch event

Reggio Emilia, 12 December 2017. On Friday 15 December 2017 at 11.30 am at the Kuwait Hall of the Loris Malaguzzi International Center in Reggio Emilia will be the launch of the project "Alliance for Development and Development of Family Agriculture in Northern Albania" . The Project is a new development cooperation initiative promoted by RTM - Reggio Terzo Mondo (www.rtm.ong) in collaboration with COSPE Onlus (www.cospe.org), Emilia Romagna Region, Autonomous Province of Bolzano-Alto Adige, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Valle dei Cavalieri Cooperative, Forum of the Albanian Associations of Emilia Romagna and the Venetian Association of Organic Producers. The Albanian partners involved are the Women's Light Passes Center (Scutari), the Partnership for Development Foundation (Tirana) and the Inter-communal Association of Zadrima. The three-year intervention is financed by the AICS - Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (www.aics.gov.it). The Project intends to promote the development of family agriculture in Northern Albania, enhancing traditional knowledge, typical local productions, the role of women and sustainable management of rural territory in some of the less developed municipalities of the area (Fushe Arrez, Puke, Vau i Dejes).

The public event is organized on the occasion of the first of a series of study visits in Italy (Emilia Romagna and Alto Adige) of Albanian delegations composed of agricultural companies and experts in the sector of Northern Albania involved in the intervention. Interventions are planned by:

• Grazia Sgarra, Public-private Partnership Manager, civil society, decentralized cooperation and innovative tools AICS - Italian Agency for Development Cooperation 
• Marcello Viani, Director of RTM - Reggio Terzo Mondo 
• Debora Angeli, Vice-President of COSPE - Cooperation for Emerging Countries Development
•  Mario Montanari, Director of Service for Innovation, Quality, Promotion and Internationalization of the Agri-Food System DG Agriculture Emilia Romagna Region 
• Judith Notdurfter, Director of the Cabinet Affairs Office of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - Alto Adige 
• Vojsava Tahiraj, Representative of the Albanian Associations Forum of Emilia Romagna.

The event will be moderated by Luisa Chiodi, Director of OBCT – CCI Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa (media partner, www.balcanicaucaso.org). The event will be broadcast live on Facebook by ALBANIA NEWS (media partner, www.albanianews.it). The event is open to the participation of associations, media and interested citizens.
